Lost Arts Academy - Who We Are and What We Do

Lost Arts Academy is a startup 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Katy, TX focused on bring information, education, resources and opportunities to the communities of the Houston Metropolitan Area.

About

According to Merriam-Webster.com, the definition of a “lost art” is as follows: something usually requiring some skill that not many people do anymore.

It is often said that the practice of writing letters has become somewhat of a lost art with the advent of email and other technological advances. As with letter writing, there are many other practices that we know as “life skills” that also have become a lost art because they are not being taught in the home or in schools anymore, if anywhere at all. That is the gap that Lost Arts Academy wants to fill.

Lost Arts Academy was formed on April 26, 2022, with the foundational mission to empower, uplift and enrich the lives of youth and adults in underserved and disadvantaged communities in the Houston Metropolitan Area. This mission would be accomplished by delivering programs and resources that will provide exposure to and opportunities for learning and practicing a myriad of “lost arts” focused on personal and financial wellness, holistic education, exposure to opportunity and community involvement.
